ESL Version 1.4

Energy Systems Library 1.4 is part of Modelon's 2025.2 release. New versions of Modelon libraries are sold and distributed directly from Modelon, as well as approved resellers.

New Features

  • Added option to define C-Rate in batteries and thermal storage

Improvements

  • Optimization objective now defaults to TAC (Total Annualized Cost) instead of TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) - this has no impact on the results, except for the value of the objective function (which is now scaled to a full year)
  • Added and updated description strings
  • Updated parameter dialogs
  • Added units to various economic variables to clarify their meaning (no monetary unit, but e.g. absolute cost vs. cost per time)
  • Renamed parameter 'P_ref' to 'P_el_ref' in Photovoltaics_efficiency, Photovoltaics_simple, WindFarm_simple, HydroPower_simple and the base-class IntermittentPowerSupply in an ongoing effort for consistent naming
  • Deprecated base-class PowerSourceBase and refactored only child classPhotovoltaics_efficiency
  • Renamed several internal variables in Photovoltaics_efficiency to match the paper the model is based on and updated documentation accordingly
  • Ensure positive efficiency values in Furnace

Bugfixes

  • Changed method to prevent referencing of summary variables that broke due to new handling of conditional components
  • Fixed wrong modifier in demo SizingWindFarm
  • Fixed wrong visibility of yellow dot indicating scalability in Photovoltaics_efficiency, WindFarm_simple, and CCPP_Blend
