VDL Version 4.5
VehicleDynamics Library 4.5 is part of Modelons 2024.2 release.
New Features
Coast down experiment with parameter identification for 1D longitudinal models
A CoastDown vehicle experiment has been added to which initializes the vehicle at speed which is then allowed to decelerate based on the resisting forces (e.g. aerodynamic drag, rolling resistance and driveline friction).
The Identification block outputs from this experiment can be used to parameterize a 1D chassis for longitudinal simulations (e.g. range estimation).
Improvements/Changes
Improved documentation on state selection for linkages
The technical note on state selection has been updated with guidelines and detailed examples using elastokinematic linkages.Minor Changes
- The SinglePointLongitudinalTracker block has been refactored with more logical grouping of control actions, without affecting the results or parameterization.
- A replaceable electrical load has been added to detailed electric powertrains enabling the modelling of losses in addition to the powertrain components. This can be useful in range simulations as shown in Coupe experiment
- The PitmanIdler steering now has switches to attach the steer links to the pitman and idler arms instead of the draglink.
Conversion of User Libraries
User libraries will automatically be converted from version 4.4. These conversions are made using the included conversion script: VehicleDynamics/Resources/Scripts/Convert_to_4.5.mos.
