Solar Power Tower Rankine Cycle🔗

This is an example of a central receiver concentrated solar power system, based on data of the 12.5 MW Solar Two test facility in California, USA.

The example addresses the engineering tasks in an early project phase like component sizing and forecasting the operational behaviour of a concentrated solar power system, specifically addressing the management of temperature and pressure values for optimal power generation in a central receiver configuration.

Combined Cycle Power Plant🔗

This is a detailed system model example of a gas-combined cycle power plant with a 3-pressure level heat recovery steam generator and an optional carbon-capture plant.

This model is a simplified representation of the Mainz-Wiesbaden power plant in Germany, based on publicly available process parameters and engineering guess values.

Super Critical Rankine 400 MW🔗

This is an example model of a supercritical coal fired power plant including a control system. It covers a closed steam cycle and a large part of the fluegas line with air pre-heater and coal combustion. The plant is operated in turbine following mode or integrated turbine following mode.

Heat Pump🔗

Example of a district-heating system heat pump system that uses heat from a heat source at low temperature, e.g. ambient temperature sea or river water and converts it into high-temperature heat for a district heating system. The process uses a two-stage compression, a condenser with sub-cooler that transfers heat to the district heating system, expansion, and bypass valves as well as the evaporator that takes up heat from the low temperature heat source.
