DCL Version 1.4
Version 1.4 extends cooling flexibility across the chiller and facility layers. Chiller subsystems gain replaceable components and external setpoint connectors. A new datasheet-driven CRAH model (CRAH_Nominal) and a full-system 7 MW example are added.
New features🔗
DataCenter7MW — Full-System Example
A 7 MW data centre plant model integrating the complete cooling chain:
- High-temperature (HT) loop — WSE chiller plant (Carrier 19FA, 5651 kW) feeding six Vertiv XDU1350 CDUs. At 28 °C ambient, the WSE delivers the full HT load via free cooling.
- Low-temperature (LT) loop — WSE chiller (McQuay PFH, 2043 kW) feeding three
CRAH_NominalFanWall pairs. - IT loads — six
NetAiNetRowrows with liquid-cooled AI racks (132 kW, 87% liquid fraction) and air-cooled network racks (22 kW). Total: ~7 MW. EthyleneGlycolWater20throughout both facility and technical loops.
Replaceable Chiller in WithEconomizer
The chiller in WithEconomizer is now declared replaceable, allowing swapping between LowFidelity.LiquidCooled and HighFidelity.LiquidCooled via a single redeclare at instantiation, without modifying the subsystem.
CRAH_Nominal
A new CRAH model deriving UA from five nominal design-point temperatures and two nominal flow rates — no coil geometry required. Uses a two-resistance power-law for off-design heat transfer with cross-flow (both-fluids-unmixed) effectiveness, consistent with real finned-tube CRAH coils.
NetAiNetRow
A new row-level assembly combining liquid-cooled AI racks and air-cooled network racks in a single reusable component.
Conversion🔗
A conversion script handles breaking changes. Some changes require manual model updates.
