EL Version 2.3

Electrification Library 2.3 is part of Modelon's 2026.2 release. New versions of Modelon libraries are sold and distributed directly from Modelon, as well as approved resellers.

Batteries

  • A new capacity model CRateTemperatureDependentBipolar has been added. This model extends TemperatureDependent with two additional capabilities:
    • C-rate dependent capacity: The capacity factor is looked up from a 2D table as a function of both C-rate and temperature, capturing the reduction in available capacity at high discharge or charge rates.
    • Bipolar operation: Separate 2D lookup tables (capacity_factor_crate_temp_table_charge and capacity_factor_crate_temp_table_discharge) are used for charging and discharging, allowing asymmetric capacity characterization across both directions of operation.
    A first-order filter on the C-rate input avoids numerical issues from rapid current changes. See the model documentation for guidance on when C-rate dependent capacity is appropriate versus simpler impedance-based approaches.
